About Strawberry Records
- A futuristic vision; the ecological label.
There are scarcely any doubts that the music industry in the future will be totally different from now. The present consumption patterns have changed and in order to survive on the whole, you have to work with a long-term perspective. A couple of years ago Chris Anderson, editor at Wired Magazine, introduced the term "The Long Tail" to point out that the music industry can't afford only concentrating on the top charts and mainstream products. In fact, it's the other way round; it's the smaller and more niche products that bring most of the money in the long-term. And furthermore, by avoiding unnecessary middlemen you're keeping the expenses low. These principles are fundamental for Strawberry Records. We have a tiptop studio of our own, we distribute the music in an economic way on the web and we don't spend a lot of money on expensive advertising.
Strawberry Records is characterized by an ecological philosophy throughout the whole company:
- The studio is powered by earth and wind power.
- All physical products are made out of waste paper or environment-friendly materials.
- We give 10 % from our income to environment or help caring organisations.
Our world is now changing, due to the climate crisis and all. We need to learn to think new, to re-think. Ecology is no longer just an alternative way of living. It's now /the/ way of living, it's about surviving or not. And these matters are concerning the music industry as well, which in conformity of the planet are facing its toughest try-outs ever. Long-sightedness and ecology is the solution, it's the model for the future.
